Macromolecular CrystallographyBeamline X13
Beamline X13 is a bending magnet macromolecular crystallography beamline on the DORIS Fan K, located in the HASYLAB Hall 5. It is a monochromatic fixed wavelength beamline operated at a wavelength of 0.81 Å (15.3 keV). The endstation is equipped with a MARCCD detector (165 mm). The station is optimised for rapid data collection, high resolution studies and Single Wavelength Anomalous Diffraction (SAD) experiments on heavy atom (Au, Pt, Hg, etc.) and Kr and Br derivatives.

Experimental possibilities
- Significant anomalous signal for Se, Br, and Kr (Δf"(Se) = 2.7 e, Δf"(Br) = 3.0 e, Δf"(Kr) = 3.3 e)
- Maximum resolution achievable: dmin = 0.8 Å
- Maximum cell axis resolvable (subject to the mosaicity and orientation of the crystal as well as the slit size): 125 Å at 1.0 Å resolution, 250 Å at 2.0 Å resolution, etc.
- Data collection via DNA.
