 | Structural Biology at Crossroads: | |
|
 |
15th - 18th September 2004
EMBL-Hamburg is pleased to host an International Conference entitled "Structural Biology at Crossroads: From Biological Molecules to Biological Systems".
During recent years, Structural Biology has undergone revolutionary developments, reaching out towards the structures of the most complex biological macromolecules and providing state-of-the-art tools for structures of entire proteomes. The conference will address key questions and issues in structural biology and imaging, particularly:
All participating scientists are encouraged to present their own work at the conference, either during the poster sessions or by selected oral presentation. Posters of the conference will be selected by an independent jury for the Best Poster Award.
The conference fee will be € 140 for early registrations (until June 15, 2004) and € 180 for late registrations (until August 15, 2004). For further details see Registration page. We are also specifically inviting scientists from less favoured regions in Europe and elsewhere. A limited number of bursaries (waiving the conference fee) will be available to participating graduate students.
At the conference, we shall celebrate the 30th anniversary of EMBL-Hamburg. During an evening session previous leading scientists from Hamburg will give an overview of the Outstations 30 years long history. The second evening session will host the opening of an exhibition by the Protein Data Bank and some of the best movies from the protein structure world will be shown. During the third evening there will be a river boat party through the old harbour of Hamburg.
The conference may also serve as an opportunity to visit the Free Hanse City of Hamburg with various possibilities for sight seeing, cultural events and shopping opportunities.
We are looking forward to meeting you at the conference. Please do not hesitate to contact us in case of any questions. E-mail: conf04@embl-hamburg.de
On behalf of the organising committee,
Yours sincerely,
Matthias Wilmanns, Ph.D.
