1. Heart of Europe Meeting on Bio-Crystallography

Directions
By car : From the Autobahn A9 which runs in the North-South direction from Berlin to Munich take the exit Eisenberg (see map, circle 1). This is two exits north of where the A4 crosses the A9. Drive towards Eisenberg. Drive through Eisenberg (on the B7) towards Gera. Presently, there is a local detour, if that still exists on Oct 08, just follow the U signs (detour signs) towards Gera. You will seemingly leave the town of Eisenberg and after about two kilometers enter a village which is Kursdorf (still part of Eisenberg though) (see map, circle 2). In Kursdorf you take a sharp right turn at the sign Mühltal which leads you onto a narrow road. Continue on to the Walkmühle (see map, arrow). At the sign Walkmühle turn right and drive up to the buildings. There is ample parking. Excuse the limited quality of the map, a better, printed version is in the mail. Alternative route : Instead of exiting the motorway A9 at the exit Eisenberg use the exit BAD KLOSTERLAUSNITZ instead, which is one exit south of Eisenberg and one north of where the A4 meets the A9 (Hermsdorfer Kreuz). Drive to Bad Klosterlausnitz which is about 2 km from the exit, turn left in the center of that small town, towards Eisenberg. About 0.5 km after the city limit (which is at the Renault garage) turn right at the sign "Muehltal". Follow the small street into a village called Weissenborn. There you make a really sharp turn at another "Muehltal" sign (this one is a bit hard to spot, but there aren't many possibilities). You are led onto a very narrow road into the scenic Muehltal (try to arrive before dark, the scenery is really beautiful), where, after about 4 or 5 kilometers you will arrive at the Walkmuehle, which is on the left side if you come this way. By train : Either arrange with me ahead of time and come to Jena around lunchtime or early afternoon on Thursday Oct 08, then you can go by car with one of the Jena participants, or take the train to Crossen (also spelled Krossen) which is on the Leipzig-Gera line. Let me know in advance when you will be there, then I can arrange to have you picked up at the station. Check the train schedule here . Trains run about once per hour in either direction at least during daytime. It's about a 40 minute trip from Leipzig and about a 15 minute trip from Gera.
